來自愛爾蘭的強尼羅根（Johnny Logan）是歐洲電視歌唱比賽（Eurovision Song Contest）最成功的歌手，總過拿過三次冠軍（１９９０，１９８７，１９９２），１９５４年強尼羅根出生於澳洲墨爾本，他的父親是位愛爾蘭著名男高音曾在白宮為甘迺迪強森尼克森三位總統表演過，１９５７年　強尼一家搬回愛爾蘭，１９７７年他參與音樂劇演出受到矚，１９７８年強尼羅根發行首支單曲但不成功，１９８０年羅根代表愛爾蘭參加歐洲電視歌唱比賽，以Shay Healy所寫的〔What’s Another Year〕拿到冠軍，此曲也在５月登上英國榜與愛爾蘭王座成為強尼事業最成功的歌曲，不過接下來的單曲皆不成功，１９８７年羅根再度代表愛爾蘭參加歐洲電視歌唱比賽，演唱作品是自寫的〔Hold Me Now／抱緊我〕，這是首旋律優美的抒情曲羅根以其高亢細致的嗓音詮釋相當感人，結果再度稱霸，〔Hold Me Now〕登上英國亞軍，也為強尼拿下第二首愛爾蘭冠軍，國際市場表現良好特別是歐洲：瑞典＆挪威亞軍荷蘭＃３　澳洲＃４　瑞士＃６，全球銷售超過１００萬張成為他事業第二次高峰，在２００５年歐洲電視歌唱比賽５０周年紀念的票選中，〔Hold Me Now〕還拿下使上最受歡迎比賽歌曲第三名，可見此曲在歐洲歌迷心中的地位，〔Hold Me Now〕在亞洲頗受到歡愛。
